Cheyenne, WY | Stakeholder Meeting for Wyoming ABA Insurance Reform
Support Enactment of Wyoming’s Insurance Reform for ABA Therapy
Wyoming is one of just seven states without an insurance reform mandate requiring private insurance to cover medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children.
At this community meeting, we hope to start an advocacy movement in Wyoming to introduce and pass an ABA mandate.
ABA therapy is an outcomes-based, scientific approach to measure behavior, teach socially significant skills, and evaluate the progress of those skills. It is widely recognized as the most effective therapy for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and is endorsed by the US Surgeon General, American Academy of Pediatrics, and American Medical Association, among others.
As a group, our team will work with families and providers to make connections across the state and get a bill sponsored for the legislative session that will start in the fall of 2016. Time will certainly fly which means the work needs to start now!
Trumpet Cheyenne Autism Center is a leading provider of ABA therapy services in southern Wyoming. Our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts and insurance specialists are excited to provide support for this much needed effort.
