Years Working in Field: 8

I appreciate that our field emphasizes a combination of scientific analysis and positive results that can be observed in everyday interactions with our consumers. I began working with children as a pre-school teacher and was drawn to and challenged by my students with disabilities. This led me to change my career path to one that combines educational settings and intensive behavioral programming for students. My experiences in the field include parent and teacher training, toilet training for children and young adults, and early intervention.

Years Working in Field: 9

I began to pursue a career in ABA after getting involved in research working with preschool-aged children with autism while earning my bachelor’s at Texas A&M. I fell in love with the science and knew I wanted to keep my education going, which led me to gain my master’s in behavior analysis at the University of Houston – Clear Lake. The experiences I had while in that environment were so crucial to building my skill set, and I can only hope to learn more as I continue in my career here at Trumpet Behavioral Health.

MA in Behavior Analysis, University of Houston - Clear Lake, 2014
BS in Psychology, Texas A&M University, 2011

Philosophy of Care

I love providing therapy to children with developmental disabilities because of the joy of seeing goals attained. My experience comprises many settings including parent training, verbal behavior, early intensive behavior intervention, and the evaluation and treatment of problem behavior.

Years Working in Field: 12

I first became interested in psychology when I took a class in high school. I attended Loyola Marymount University as an undergraduate, where I majored in psychology. After graduating, I began working in the field of applied behavior analysis. I continued my education by pursuing a Master’s degree and BCBA at California State University, Los Angeles. For the last 10 years, I have worked in the home and clinic settings with a broad range of clients, mostly between the ages of 2-12. I enjoy designing behavior treatment, consulting with parents and educators to help improve performance in the home and community, and designing research aimed to advance the field of applied behavior analysis.

BA in Psychology, Loyola Marymount University, 2005

Philosophy of Care

When I graduated from college, I knew that I wanted a career in psychology, and that I wanted to use what I had learned to help others. When looking for my first job, a friend of mine referred me to a behavior analysis agency. Right away, I knew I had found what I wanted to do with my career. I attended graduate school as I moved upward through the ranks at my agency, eventually earning my BCBA and achieving my goal of implementing effective treatment designed to improve the quality of others’ lives. Through my academic and professional career, I have had a great deal of interest in performing research in the areas of improving alternative communication and increasing independent social repertoires. To me, there is no greater feeling that knowing you have helped to create meaningful change in someone else’s life – this is my inspiration and motivation with every client that I see, and I feel fortunate to have this opportunity.
