I appreciate that our field emphasizes a combination of scientific analysis and positive results that can be observed in everyday interactions with our consumers. I began working with children as a pre-school teacher and was drawn to and challenged by my students with disabilities. This led me to change my career path to one that combines educational settings and intensive behavioral programming for students. My experiences in the field include parent and teacher training, toilet training for children and young adults, and early intervention.

I discovered my love for working with children with special needs through an internship with Early Childhood Intervention during my time at Baylor University. Following graduation, I found my first job as an ABA Therapist at a clinic in Houston. This led me to decide to pursue my certification as a BCBA. I have just finished my master’s from The University of Texas at Austin where I worked as an assistant teacher providing ABA therapy at a private school for children diagnosed with autism. Having completed my degree I am studying to take the BCBA exam and am looking forward to continue working with children with autism and developmental disabilities.

Education

MEd in Early Childhood Special Education, The University of Texas at Austin, 2015
BS in Child & Family Studies, Baylor University, 2013

Philosophy of Care

I love providing therapy to children with autism because I am able to see what a difference that makes in their lives everyday. I am driven to see how I can constantly improve their quality of life. I have had experience in several clinical settings focused on working with children with challenging behaviors and love to see how ABA can work so effectively to improve those behaviors. Seeing the children that I’m working with make progress is what keeps me motivated working everyday.

I studied Psychology in Bucharest, Romania, earning my Master’s degree in Criminal Behavior Psychology. My adventure in the realm of Applied Behavior Analysis began in 2011 at Texas Young Autism Project, where I gained extensive experience working with individual clients with Autism Spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as training their families and other professionals in applied behavioral analysis techniques. I further explored the amazing world of ABA, continuing to develop my skills, and passing my certification exam to become a BCBA.

Education

M.A. in Criminal Behavior Psychology, Titu Maiorescu University, 2007
B.A. in Psychology, Titu Maiorescu University, 2005

Philosophy of Care

I believe every person is capable of learning; the educator’s challenge is to find the right strategy for proper information absorption. My paramount goal is to give individuals with autism the right support to realize whatever their own personal potential is. I am grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference in my clients’ lives.
