Leading ABA Provider Establishes Center-Based Program
Leavenworth, Kan. – For military families in Leavenworth, finding a center-based autism provider has been simplified.
Trumpet Behavioral Health will open doors to a new Autism Center on Monday, May 5th. The location at 119 Delaware St. will provide assessments, program monitoring and evaluation, and intensive educational and behavioral services.
Trumpet specializes in the treatment of children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities and currently provides center-based, school-based and in-home services in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, and Wyoming through a team of over 700 passionate and highly-skilled individuals which include PhD, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®), and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA®) providers.
Services in the Leavenworth Autism Center are provided through a circle of care that includes clinicians and therapists who collaborate with educators, healthcare providers, families, and most importantly, each person that is served.
Chris Miller, Managing Director at Trumpet Behavioral Health, is excited about the center and what it will mean for military families in Ft. Leavenworth.
“Our military emphasizes the importance of families every day. This center is our opportunity to simplify the process of obtaining ABA therapy services while providing an unparalleled, evidence-based approach to each child’s care. The Trumpet team is honored to serve the many unique children of Leavenworth, and we look forward to becoming a part of this community.”
Trumpet Behavioral Health’s clinical services are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a systematic, evidence-based approach designed to address challenging behaviors and skill deficits in several areas including communication and social skills.
ABA therapy is widely recognized as the most effective treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other exceptional behavioral needs, and is endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General, American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Stephanie Sheridan, BCBA, Clinical Director of the Leavenworth Autism Center, acknowledges Trumpet’s new center as beneficial for families of children with Autism.
“My team and I are delighted to have the opportunity to provide expanded options to children and families seeking evidence-based ABA services within Leavenworth and the surrounding communities. Choosing between service locations is not an easy decision for any parent or caregiver, which is why we set out to find a solution.”
Sheridan further notes that center-based services permit increased opportunities for skill acquisition and generalization for learner’s of all ages. Centers also promote socialization, assist in the establishment of repertoires necessary for school, and allow for increased supervision of a learner’s program.
Current and future clients of Trumpet Behavioral Health will now have a choice between home-based or center-based services and will be able to access intensive behavioral interventions more easily and within their own community.
