Pleasanton, Calif. – For parents of children with Autism in Alameda County, the process of finding a center-based inclusion program has been simplified.
Trumpet Behavioral Health has started a new relationship with Bright Horizon’s Family Solutions Dublin Center to offer high quality teaching programs for children with Autism and related developmental disabilities.
These teaching programs, based on Applied Behavior Analysis, early intervention techniques and natural learning settings, will utilize a scientific approach to measure behavior, teach socially significant skills, and evaluate the progress of those skills. Studies consistently prove that the intensity of early intervention therapy during preschool years is critical in helping children with Autism to acquire pivotal social and communication skills needed for success in learning environments later in life.
Dr. Linda LeBlanc, BCBA-D, Trumpet’s Executive Director of Research and Clinical Services, and a researcher in the field of early intervention and Applied Behavior Analysis for over 20 years, regards the implementation of this partnership as a very unique opportunity for children with Autism in Alameda County.
“Early intervention is critical to ensuring that children with Autism develop pivotal skills that enhance their cognitive, social, and emotional development. The children who attend the Dublin preschool will receive excellent services from highly-skilled clinicians who are focused on creating powerful, positive environments to maximize each child’s potential for the rest of their lives.”
Kerri Martinez, Regional Manager at Bright Horizons Family Solutions, thinks this integration will truly benefit families within the Alameda County area.
“We are incredibly proud of this new relationship with Trumpet Behavioral Health to make an even bigger impact on the future educational success of the children in our care,” said Martinez. “At Bright Horizons, it is our strong belief that through intentional guidance and building upon each child’s individual strengths and talents, we can help children in this program to make sure they are receiving the care they need, the creative learning experiences they enjoy, and the intellectually challenging opportunities they deserve.”
While Autism therapy varies across psychological practices, early intervention remains a critical window of opportunity for children ages 0 to 6. The provision of intensive intervention during early years leads to a higher degree of independence and maximized outcomes.
Programs for special needs children, says Lani Fritts, Managing Director at Trumpet Behavioral Health, are substantially enhanced when the learning environment is enriched when co-located with a high quality preschool and child care setting like Bright Horizons.
“This partnership sets the stage for individualized, comprehensive learning and integration opportunities on an unprecedented level. We’re honored and excited to provide services together with Bright Horizons, utilizing the breadth of our collective clinical expertise and educational knowledge.”
